Hit the ground running
Ok, let's cut the crap and get things started with a Finished Object. One I really need to get in the mail before the kid grows out of it.

Reclining in the peonies.

Drunkenly inhaling the scent of the peonies.

A close-up of the little bits in the yarn.

The back of the sweater with the grosgrain ribbon.
Peonies
The Pattern: "Classic Cashmere Sweater from Erika Knight's Simple Knits for Cherished Babies.
The Yarn: Magic Gardens "Buttons" in 880 Hot Pink (83% Pure New Zealand Wool, 17% Polyester Effect Yarn). I used almost all of three balls (133 yds/123 m per 50g skein, double knit weight). Purchased from my LYS The Knitting Shoppe in Iowa City.
The Needles: Size 5 US Susan Bates aluminum circs (stuff into a bag more easily than straights).
Comments: This is a great pattern, and an adorable machine washable wool yarn. I didn't change the pattern, aside from using a different yarn and ribbon than suggested. It was knit in one piece from the bottom front edge over the shoulders and down to the bottom back edge. I would definitely knit this sweater again, but I would probably knit in the round up to the sleeves in order to eliminate side seams and avoid purling every other row in stockinette. This is for my cousin's new daughter...if I ever get it sent (tomorrow, I swear!!).
