Progress Report
So I guess I've been knitting, just not posting. But tonight we're going to get back on the horse. I've got to follow up the Ugliest Sweater Ever with something, right? Don't answer that question. It may seem like a crime against humanity to allow the creator of that sweater to continue to knit, but I'd like to try to redeem myself somehow.
I finished another Pinwheel blanket! How's that for progress?!? This one is for other friends who had a baby several months ago. Neither Pinwheel has been gifted yet. The pattern is by Genia Planck, and it's lovely. The yarn is three skeins of Skacel ArtDeco in a slightly different colorway than the first, purchased from the wonderful Little Knits (Noro on sale!). Denise Interchangeables were so great for this project, as you can keep adding cable length as the diameter of the blanket gets bigger and bigger.

If you average the color in the two shots above, it's about right. I need photography lessons.

In person, the variegated yarn doesn't make your eyes go buggy quite as much.

In other exciting news, I'm making my first toe-up sock! I've now done about two pattern repeats. I'm trying to use up my sock pal yarn. I really hope I'll be able to at least get a short sock out each partial skein that I have left. Toe up really seems like the way to go. Of course, I haven't done the heel yet, so check back later when short rows are driving me to distraction.
I'm off to take part of my boards in Chicago tomorrow, then to Champaign, Illinois to visit my brother and Mrs. O.
