Fitness Friday
Hey Kiddos
It's Fitness Friday! My answer to addressing the change in ass gauge that accompanies too many hours sitting and knitting. There's a great knitalong with many different perspectives and levels of fitness. It's in the sidebar; check it out.
So in Fitness Friday I will just check in about my week of fitness (or lackthereof) and maybe post links to different resources, whatever.
This week, I ran for about 50 minutes yesterday (I was probably running about a 10 minute mile--slow! It is a common route, so I will measure it sometime), and swam one mile (outside in City Park, hurrah!) today. Of course, after a torturing humid and sunny day, the sun went under the clouds the minute I showed up at the pool. Earlier in the week I worked several overnight 12-hr shifts, in addition to working on research during the day. Since I go from one end of the hospital to another over and over, I typically don't feel the need to squeeze in another workout on those days.
Here's the link of the week, which I found on my University's Student Health page:
Healthy Running
Check out the training programs in the sidebar.
Here's another link:
Troops and Trihawks Triathlon
It's a sprint triathlon in Coralville (next to Iowa City) on Sept 18! The course looks great, despite the measly 500 m swim (aka the only part I'm sure I can do). Hardly worth getting wet for!
Tomorrow there will be an actual knitting update, with a recently completed shrug and various works in progress.
