I'm back! I've been knitting like crazy, but progress has been slow. I finally decided to throw in a progress shot instead of holding out until this is actually done. I'm knitting Shedir from the Knitty Breast Cancer Special Issue (.pdf) for a friend of the family. I am using Rowan Calmer, in the color Calmer that I ordered from Angel Yarns. I also ordered a ball of Peacock, Joy, and Drift, so I will probably make a few hats in different (not as complicated) patterns also. I do really love this pattern, but much attention must be paid. Cabling without a cable needle is a lifesaver on this one. I also had to cast on four times in order to get guage. Everyone else seems to get it on US 3 Addis, but I am doing it on 1s. I don't knit particularly tightly; maybe it's the elasticity. I had to go way down in needle sizes for my Ribbed Shrug out of Paton's Katrina too.

I'm also, of course, doing the "Will I run out of yarn?!?" panic that everyone has done. I'm feeling better after getting into the decreasing, but time will tell. I still have 20 pattern rows left! Hopefully I'll have an FO to show tomorrow.

It is so pretty. I really love that pattern, and I'm sure that the recipient will love it. Can't wait to see the finished hat.
What a beautiful hat! The cables are so pretty.
