Mid-Week WIPs Report
I arrived at my house today to find I had completely forgotten house keys two hours away (a long story). Though I had used the hidden key last week when I did this, and failed to replace it, I had smartly left one with a friend when we bought this house three years ago. Ultimately, I tracked down this friend, caught up with her a bit, and strolled through the farmers market with her. (I am currently snacking on some delicious organic sugar snap peas from some local Mennonite farmers!) My friend quickly located the key in a random container in a random drawer, and I left, stopping by the library to pick up Season Six, Part 2, of Sex and the City to enjoy in relaxation tonight. However, I momentarily got frazzled by other would-be parkers, and promptly locked my car and newly reacquired house keys in the car. Not Even Joking. Fortunately, at this point this was all so hilarious that I almost didn't mind shelling out so many dollars for Mike's Lock and Key to bail me out. I drove home (nearly running over a cat), unlocked everything I possibly could, replaced the hidden key with a spare, and prepared my friend's key for return to her tomorrow. Now I am going to settle down and wait for tomorrow.
So, here's a little update of my current projects. We'll save languishing or should-be projects for another time. Those posted below are actually imminent.
1. We're beading at my house for Ladies Night. Hence:
Wha?
Hopefully soon that will be MaryElla from Knitty Winter '04. Dawn's Hide and Bead Away, one of my Favorite Places in Iowa City, had a dazzling selection of 11/0 seed beads (on the order of hundreds of different colorways) at about $6 for two MaryElla's worth. Crazy. And I bought beautiful size 0000 needles from Purse Paradise on Ebay. I'll post a pic of my own at some point.
2. Next up: Socks for Carwash (DBF):
No flash, with flashy knitting bag, and a well-deserved Sprecher Pub Ale

This is Sock It To Me Collection Colori in Cancun Fiesta from Elann. Though I don't mind random pooling with colorful yarns, why is mine doing this, while Mindy's first sock is coming out with wonderful flecks everywhere? I am also doing this as the Simple Sock from Socks Soar on Two Circular Needles. I've made another pair of these in a different colorway of the same yarn; I'll post them someday. After this I'm moving on; there are several other patterns I'd make from this book.
3. Sock Pal Yarn?
Bejeweled
I just got this yarn in the mail from No No Kitty Yarns. She was clearing out some stuff on Ebay last week. I also got my Sockpal2za recipient's info yesterday, and I'm thinking this might be just right for her. I might try it first with the Sunshine Sock pattern from the Knitting Zone Sock Challenge. Warning: that's a large .pdf file. The pattern I'm looking at is a few from the end.
Well, I'm spent from all of that flickring and linking. I have a finished object to post, but no pics yet. Maybe tomorrow.

Ruby,
Where did you learn to knit? I would love some interactive classes since I want to knit my husband some warm winter accessories.
What do you suggest?
Please address in your next message.
Wow, what a day. Hopefully Thursday was better. I love Dawn's too. I have to keep myself from going there too often, because I always come away with all sorts of treasures.
