Holiday Knitting
Thank goodness for Mrs. O. You may have noticed there has been little news of late on this here blog. I've been a little busy trying to figure out where I want to live, work, and learn for the next for years. And, since wanted to be open-minded, it's been a bicoastal process. Though I'm now back, I have v. little in the way of holiday knitting to show. Enter Mrs. O. What would Ruby Banshee be without her? Sit back, pour yourself some Silk Nog, and behold:

The Specs:
Pattern: "Classic Christmas Stocking" from the book "Holiday Knits" by Sara Lucas and Allison Isaacs
Yarn: Cascade 220 worsted weight -- doubled, and Feza Lady yarn for the top (The Pattern recommended Jaeger Yarn and Jaeger fur - so these were substitute yarns.)
Needles: size 8 for the body and size 15 for the top.
Comments: To better show the shape of the stocking, the stocking is stuffed with paper. It is a very tight, stiff knit stocking which will natually hold shape.
The irony of this project is that now that it's done (in record time) and looking so good (a la Teen Girl Squad), it can't really be hung by the fireplace because a Brittany named Geta wants to chew up that fuzzy stuff. Who wouldn't?
I've looked through the Holiday Knits book, and there's lots of great stuff in there. I want to make the fingerless mitts from this book, with some new yarn (to be blogged tomorrow), if I don't use it for a lacy scarf. Stay tuned.
Thanks again to Mrs. O for the blog fodder. Don't worry, she will be amply thanked in due time in the form of lots and lots of hand knits when I have nieces or nephews to knit for! (Wink.)
