Mmmm....Silk Garden.....
I swear to Jebus I've been knitting new stuff. But a while ago I uploaded pics of a bunch of old stuff to Flickr. So for now, it's easier to blog the old stuff. Can anyone tell I'm on vacay? I'm posting! Hurrah, hurray!

I made this hat and mitten set for my mommy a couple of Christmases ago. The mittens is a standard mitten pattern I use (not on hand at the moment), and the hat is just a roll brimmed hat with standard spaced decreases. For the tassel, I braided three strands of yarn together, then tied on the tassel. I'd made the same hat and mitten set out of a different colorway of Silk Garden (34, my fave) for myself a few years ago, and only attached the tassel with one strand. Needless to say it busted. I think the braided tassel resists bustage, and I like the tassel hanging down a bit. My mom even wears it, and she looks really cute in it. No pics of that though, maybe this winter.
ETA: It's Silk Garden 211, btw.
